Tobias Luksch studierte von 1996 bis 2002 Informatik an der Universität Karlsruhe mit den Vertiefungsgebieten Robotik, maschinelles Lernen, adaptive Systeme und Regelungstechnik. Seine Diplomarbeit trägt den Titel Verhaltensbasierte freie Gangart für eine vierbeinige Laufmaschine und wurde am Forschungszentrum für Informatik (FZI) in Karlsruhe durchgeführt. Von Januar bis Juni 2003 arbeitete er als Gastforscher an der Technischen Universität Helsinki (HUT) in Finnland. Seit Juli 2003 ist er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Doktorand des Fachbereichs Informatik an der Universität Kaiserslautern eingestellt. Forschungsinteressen liegen in verhaltensbasierter Robotik und der Steuerung radgetriebener oder laufender autonomer mobiler Systeme.
