The project is aimed at all students of the University of Kaiserslautern, who would like to gain practical experience on the highly current topic of "Autonomous Driving". Within the frame of the project, our chair provides several Unimog robots, which will be programmed by the students. At the end of the semester, the groups meet in a public competition.
The project covers all essential aspects of autonomous control, such as navigation, environmental recognition, simulation with the Unreal Engine or control architectures. These topics and practical experience are therefore prepare well for a later professional activity in science or industry. The Unimog robots are replacing our popular but somewhat older forklift robots.
