The USV (Unmanned Surface Vessel) for the pontoon boat project has arrived. With the help of the USV, a drivability map for the large pontoon boats is to be created, since no information is available on the water depth and possible obstacles in the areas where they are used. The USV can be driven by remote control and a live image from the camera. In addition, there is also the possibility to drive via GPS points. We are currently equipping the USV with a multi-beam sonar sensor and a highly accurate GPS. In addition, we are currently working on algorithms that extract drivability information from the sensor data.
