Vita

Jens Wettach studied technical computer science at the University of Kaiserslautern with a focus on software engineering, embedded systems and robotics. As diploma thesis he developed a control system for the vacuum based adhesion mechanism of a wheel driven climbing robot. His scientific research at the Robotics Research Lab concentrated on strategies for autonomous exploration and mapping of unknown indoor environments using the mobile robot Marvin as exemplary platform.

After completing his PhD in June 2016, he gained practical experience in the field of autonomous agricultural machinery while working on projects with John Deere GmbH & Co. KG as industrial partner.

Jens Wettach is a co-author of the open source robotic framework Finroc.

He left the Robotics Research Lab in August 2017.
